Event: Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare
Location: OSG Paintball, NH
Date: 5/16/10
Team members and guests: Norboo, Prowler, Mudweasel, Bone Daddy, Nip, Josh.
The Day:
The day started with the drive to the field. “Who orders French toast…really”? 51 met with the SAS team captain and were assigned a mission. 51 raced forward and took the castle while providing cover-fire for Josh and another runner that were retrieving a manifest. 51 held the castle for a while, but eventually were driven out/retreated to help cover the rest of the team so they could complete another mission.
The next big mission was to take and hold the Halo tank in the middle of the field. 51 helped provided defense along the skirmish line. I kept in touch with the SAS caption so that we could shift our force to locations that were taking extra fire. This allowed our team to repel multiple attacks during the mission. Part way through the mission, the caption asked 51 to flank and “cause so trouble”. Half of the team was left to help defend the tank while the other half started the flanking maneuver. We met resistance fought our way around the castle with some support from other players. Our flanking unit was able to clear all the way into the gully on the left side of the castle. The other team reinforced their position and we were taken out one by one. We re-spawned and folded back into the defense with the other team members.
The two final missions before lunch were to rescue a hostage and to destroy a tower. 51 tried a few times to flank around the castle to destroy the tower but there was too much resistance for us to break through. We decided that we would be better used helping rescue the hostage. The hostage rescue was CRAZY! The bulk of both teams were focused on an area the size of a soccer field. After many pushes, the team was finally able to break into the building and extract the hostage. Thank god a few minutes later we broke for lunch.
After lunch, the objective was for both teams to secure up to three locations. Points were given for the time spent in the location by the team. 51 were spread out to help cover and defend. The lines moved back and forth between the teams. At one point the other team had pushed all the way back past our respawn. We were able to fight our way back and push them all the way back to their base at Hamburger Hill. The day ended with a barrage of paint to shield our position. After all the points, our team had come out on top.
Pro:
• Early arrival ensured good parking spot.
• Good radio communication allowed our team to be affective and active
Con:
• Only one fill station. (Will eventually build a new shed with more stations)
• OSG is all hills ☹
Lesson to learn:
• Always bring radios
